This is a challenging project that will help woodturners of all levels to build on their skills.
The Live Session online platform is a ‘free to join’ meeting place, where woodworking enthusiasts from all over the world come together each week to learn and share ideas.
Join us in an environment where you can interact with others, share your knowledge, and enjoy a fun and entertaining demonstration.
This week, Internationally acclaimed woodturner, Theo Haralampou will take centre stage from his studio workshop in Brisbane Australia, to demonstrate techniques, share knowledge and his woodturning knowhow.
You will find an excellent learning environment for woodturners of all skill levels, as Theo talks about timber selection, and demonstrates mounting techniques for optimum safety and performance.
This will keep you on the edge of your seat!
In this project Theo will cover:
- How to prepare and mount your timber for stability on the lathe.
- What is different about the wood orientation for live edge turning.
- How to keep the bark on through the turning process.
- Bowl turning techniques and approaches
- How to maintain gouge control and turning efficiency.
