A lidded box is a very simple woodturning project, the design possibilities are endless and the finished results make super little gifts. You can use up all sorts of scraps of timber, just make the box to suit what’s available.

The snowman and tree are made from Popular and 2 1/2 inches tall. The tree is first painted white and then sprayed with Jolly Red textured paint from ColorTex. The snowman is just finished with markers from Sharpie. The big ornament is a Maple ball with inlay and the finial is Tulipwood.
